Satinder Sartaaj (Punjabi: ਸਤਿੰਦਰ ਸਰਤਾਜ; born as Satinder Pal Singh Saini[1]), also cited as Satinder Sartaj, is an Indian Punjabisinger and poet, who is famous for his Sufi style of singing. He first appeared on the international scene after he won the Best Sufi Singer award at the Dubai International Cultural fest in 2003, where he was also commended as a lead vocalist and for his performance in a folk dance competition.[1][2] Since then his popularity has seen a constant surge among the Punjabi diaspora with his shows being held in many countries across the world,[3] and his style and persona being compared to those of the legendary Punjabi poet Waris Shah.[4] He has often been declared as the torch-bearer of the rich tradition of Punjabi culture.[5]
